Who Are We?
Chase Minnifield is a native of Lexington Kentucky. Alumni of The Lexington School, Henry Clay High School and The University of Virginia. His first two season at UVA he managed to rack up 53 tackles and four interceptions in a reserve role. In his Junior Season at UVA he had 48 tackles, six interceptions, and 0.5 sacks. Chase was ranked No. 2 in the ACC and No. 7 in the nation with six interceptions in the 2010 season and was selected as the “Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week” Honor on two separate occasions his junior year. His Senior season Through twelve games of the 2011 season Minnifield had 50 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 touchdown and 1.5 sacks. Chase was a 2x All-Acc & All-American at UVA. Played 3 NFL seasons at the Washington Redskins. Currently residing back in Lexington, KY.
Frank Minnifield is a native of Lexington Kentucky. Alumni of Henry Clay High School, and the University of Louisville. Considered too small for college football at just 5’9″ and 140 pounds, he walked on to the football team at the University of Louisville, earning a scholarship spot for his final three years. As a junior in 1981, he led the nation in average yards per kickoff return (30.4) and led his team in punt returns. After graduation in 1982, Minnifield joined the Chicago Blitz (later the Arizona Wranglers) of the USFL. He successfully sued the Wranglers for the right to move to the NFL, and signed as a free agent with the Browns in 1984. Minnifield became a fixture at cornerback for Cleveland and was named to the Pro Bowl four straight years from 1986-89. Known for his aggressive bump-and-run coverage and hard hitting style, he was named to the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team as selected by voters of the Pro Football Hall of Fame
